From the Minister: the Revd. Ian Souter.

Welcome to the Web Site of Midsomer Norton Methodist Church.

Midsomer Norton is a country town about 10 miles south of Bath and situated on the edge of the beautiful Mendip Hills.

You’ll find the Methodist Church right n the middle of the town on the High Street and we seek to be at the centre of the life of the town as well. We try to keep the building open seven days a week and any morning you will find someone there offering a warm welcome. We hope that you will feel very much at home with us if join us for worship on a Sunday or at any of the other activities that you’ll find on the website.

As followers of Jesus we want to express the Christian life in many ways. Worship is important and we aim to provide a wide variety of types of worship, not only ‘traditional’ Methodist Worship but also the Saturday Night Praise, and Gener8 – a service aimed at both young and old together. But alongside this we run house fellowships and Bible Study, a youth club, mothers and toddlers, a lunch club, a cricket club, a craft afternoon and lots else. But also being blessed with some super premises we want to make our buildings a place where our whole community can feel at home.

We want to be a community where anyone can come and share their problems and find a listening ear and support. We also wish to encourage every person to bring and use those gifts that God has given them in the mission of the church.

We call ourselves Methodists because of the tradition we come from but we are committed to working with the whole Christian community in the town.

Also part of our Christian work is to support the small Methodist community in the nearby village of Holcombe where we run a Messy Church and a fellowship group once a month and where our premises are a vital contribution to the life of the village.

If you are in Midsomer Norton then please drop into the church centre and get to know us. We pray you’ll find a warmth of welcome and may know God’s blessing.
