Midsomer Norton Methodist Church War Memorial

The memorial now located in the vestibule of the church.

Our records show that in 1921 the Trustees of the Church were of the “opinion that our Church ought to make a permanent record of the sacrifice of the lives of our own men in the Great War irrespective of the general town’s memorial.”

The memorial consists of an oak frame with bronze tablets

The inscription reads

1914 FOR KING AND COUNTRY 1918

TO THE GLORY OF GOD

And In Proud And Grateful Memory Of The Men Of This Church Who Served In The Great War.

The Names Of Those Who Fell Are Here Inscribed
